The Mazda CX-6e at the Falstaff LIVING Design Awards 2026: where automotive design meets outstanding design.

Design, innovation and sustainability took centre stage at the Falstaff LIVING Design Awards 2026 in Vienna. With the new Mazda CX-6e in Nightfall Violet and the presentation of the sustainability award, Mazda Austria made two particularly notable contributions. It was also an exciting evening for Auto Stahl, Mazda’s partner in Vienna, which demonstrated just how closely automotive design is linked to the worlds of architecture and design.

Nightfall Violet: The Mazda CX-6e as the design highlight of the evening

A particular eye-catcher of the evening was the new, all-electric Mazda CX-6e, which Mazda Austria prominently displayed in front of the event venue, the MAK.

In its striking Nightfall Violet paint finish, the vehicle harmonised perfectly with the violet ambient lighting in the beautiful entrance hall of the Museum of Applied Arts. Colour, light and form complemented one another to create a harmonious display that made the Mazda CX-6e an almost natural part of the evening’s design world.

This demonstrated once again the importance Mazda attaches to design. The brand’s distinctive design language combines clean lines with emotive styling, lending each model a distinct personality. The Mazda CX-6e carries this ethos into the brand’s all-electric future.

Mazda Austria receives sustainability award

In addition to the vehicle’s presentation, Mazda also made an important statement at the awards ceremony.

Christian Heider, Managing Director of Mazda Austria, presented the Falstaff LIVING Design Award in the sustainability category to the internationally renowned architecture and design studio Snøhetta.

The studio is known for its innovative projects and its holistic design approach, in which environmental responsibility, functionality and aesthetics are considered as a unified whole.

The award highlighted that good design today extends far beyond mere outward appearance. Sustainability, innovative materials and forward-thinking concepts play just as important a role in architecture as they do in automotive development.

Outstanding design meets the Mazda brand world at Auto Stahl
